Brilliant idea for which I can not take credit. Karen at Sew Many Ways posted this clever idea recently on her "Tool Time Tuesday" and I couldn't wait to try it. These galvanized spikes at Lowe's were only $.45 each but they are 8" not 12" like hers from Home Depot which were $.65. I didn't see the longer length. This is a great way to keep track of what ribbon you have and gives you easy access to it when you need it. Just bring a spool of ribbon with you to test the diameter of the spike.

Very cute! I'm adding this to my to do list
Very clever! I'm always on the lookout for some good ribbon storage.
I am definitely getting those spikes. I use many types of ribbon for wrapping my handcrafted soap gifts, so I NEED a means of organization. Right now they're all just a jumble in a box! Thanks. :-)
Clever idea! I might use this to tame the horde of ribbons taking over my craft room. When I put them all in one place I was amazed at how many spools I have. Thanks!
SO cute! Dumb question - did you adhere the spikes to a flat surface so they'd stay standing up like that? If you did, what did you use? I have wayyy too many rolls of ribbon and could definitely use something to organize them better!
Thanks for being a part of Friendly Friday, by the way! I'm now following you back through GFC.
Actually the spool from the ribbon provides enough balance to keep the spike upright. Works like a charm!
This is a great idea! I have ribbon everywhere! ;)
Clever, clever!
Cute idea! Storing ribbon is a pain - mine is always in a mess!
Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

I'd be a bit wary of the sharp points. Perhaps placing a cork on it. Happy Blue Monday.

Brilliant!!
I love your idea and it works. Simply perfect for a ribbon holder.

The only reason why I have so much ribbon is because I forget what I already have to begin with... This would help out! Great Organization tip!!
Thanks for linking up this tip as well!
(Keep them comin')
:)
I think I need some spikes for all my hair ribbon for Miss G4s hair bows but then I buy bulk and don;t have the spools. That is a fabulous idea though.

I love this idea. It would make things so much easier to find just the right ribbon. I'm printing this off and will keep it in my purse with me so that I don't forget the next time I'm at Lowe's or Home Depot. Thanks for sharing at the Boardwalk Bragfest!
My ribbon is always such a mess! I may have to try this.
This is about a million times better than my system- shoving them all in a drawer. What a simple, yet fantastic idea!
