Crafts: A Corking Good Idea

When I saw these three different sized glass containers at TJMaxx/Homegoods,  I knew I had a storage solution for our growing collection of wine and champagne corks.  I had made a bulletin board in the past out of corks but was looking for a way to display our growing collection and this seemed perfect.  On another shopping venture I found the "Wine" book and it was an ideal addition to the display.

I love the three different sized vases :) I don't have quite that many corks yet..although I've been saving the cork from every bottle that my husband and I have shared for the past 4-5 years. I think I might put them in an apothacary jar.

I just threw away so many wine corks. I had kept them for a while, thinking certainly I'll come up with some craft. But alas, I gave up. Now to start my new collection for this great idea! :)

Blogging Friend,I wish I drank wine just to collect the corks! Perfect containers to display them. Of course you could make a wreath with them too. Joan

During the course of my life (and the gallons of wine drunk) I have saved many a cork. Never finding quite the perfect thing to do with them, I sadly have thrown them away. I'll have to start a new collection, to do just this. so much better than a bulletin board!

This is adorable. I have to laugh every time I see the growing size of our collection, and these are the perfect solution! I have a pretty glass container just begging for this treatment. Thanks for sharing!

Great display. Years ago I was lucky enough to stay in Nice on the French Riviera for three weeks and the one thing that always made me laugh was when I went down to the pebble beach there was no garbage but it was covered with thousands of wine corks! I like Joan's idea of doing a wreath.
