On our recent trip to Italy, I noticed that the cloth napkins on the planes had their own button hole in one corner. This is a genius idea ! Restaurants should follow suit. I decided it to try it in some of my napkins at home. It really is a clever way to protect clothing while eating - especially Italian....
Fold napkin and mark one inch down from point.
Measure down 3/4 to one inch from first mark. I did one inch but think
3/4" might work better.
This will be where you make your buttonhole
Make a buttonhole according to your machine directions.
Slit open your button hole.

What a clever idea! I'm hosting an upcoming Italian dinner. Let's see if I get this done. First I have to locate the red and white tablecloths. Then I'll look for napkins. I better hurry. Great idea!

That's an excellent idea - especially for folks like my husband and I who seem to wear more of their pasta than what makes it to their mouth. ;)
Happy Rednesday,
Sally

That is a wonderful idea! Why didn't someone think of this a long time ago? We all know that when one eats BBQ, buttery corn on the cob or Spaghetti one must wear a bib!!
What a Duh moment. That is a great idea! It too simple.
Very good idea. Every mom should have these for her kids, and husband. Of course we don't personally need it, lol, yeah right. Thanks for sharing, and I am the host to a very NEW party, if you get a chance stop by and link up. Thanks!!!
This is a super idea. I may just make some slits, since I don't sew. My Mom is handicapped and only has the use of one hand. This will make it a lot easier to keep her clothes clean. Thank you so much for this great idea!
What a great idea! I need one of these! I am highlighting this at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com
That is genius and if it is not patented in the US you should get one asap! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this! It's a lot more attractive than stuffing one end down you collar - that's for sure! Happy Rednesday! Patti
