Needlework: Knitted Hat, Cowl and Mittens for Adults

The HAT pattern is free from Lion Brand Yarn. I knit it using two strands of 4 ply yarn simultaneously.  I did not join it to work in a round.  Instead I purled every other row and sewed up the seam when completed.   
These easy to make MITTENS are from the Feb. 2011 issue of Woman's Day magazine.  The pattern comes in Women's medium using a size 10.5 needle. I used size 11 and this made a larger mitten. I also make both mittens at the same time to assure they are the same finished size.
The COWL is very easy to make and looks great.  The pattern is available free from Lions Brand Yarn.  I did use a size 11 needle instead of size 9.  Pictured is the cowl in size L/XL.    
For the HEADBAND, I cast on 10 stitches using two strands of yarn and K2, P2 until the desired length was reached.  After casting off and joining the ends, I crocheted 2 rows of single crochet around each edge for a finished look.  Just a way to use up some leftover yarn!
