Helpful Hints: Clever Ribbon Holders

Brilliant idea for which I can not take credit.  Karen at Sew Many Ways posted this clever idea recently on her "Tool Time Tuesday" and I couldn't wait to try it.  These galvanized spikes at Lowe's were only $.45 each but they are 8" not 12" like hers from Home Depot which were $.65.  I didn't see the longer length.  This is a great way to keep track of what ribbon you have and gives you easy access to it when you need it.  Just bring a spool of ribbon with you to test the diameter of the spike.

  3. I am definitely getting those spikes. I use many types of ribbon for wrapping my handcrafted soap gifts, so I NEED a means of organization. Right now they're all just a jumble in a box! Thanks. :-)

  4. Clever idea! I might use this to tame the horde of ribbons taking over my craft room. When I put them all in one place I was amazed at how many spools I have. Thanks!

  5. SO cute! Dumb question - did you adhere the spikes to a flat surface so they'd stay standing up like that? If you did, what did you use? I have wayyy too many rolls of ribbon and could definitely use something to organize them better!

Thanks for being a part of Friendly Friday, by the way! I'm now following you back through GFC.

  6. Actually the spool from the ribbon provides enough balance to keep the spike upright. Works like a charm!
