Recipe: Dog Bone Treats

I found this recipe at Brown Eyed Baker and it just might be a keeper!  I did substitute non fat dry milk and water for the low fat milk.  I have a feeling it won't make a huge difference in taste since our grand-puppy, Ralphie,  doesn't seem too particular just how he gets his peanut butter fix!  Ralphie is my son and daughter-in-law's 18 month old French Bull Dog.
I also reduced the cooking time to about 12 minutes since my dog bone cutters are on the smaller side.
Peanut Butter Doggie Bones
Ingredients:
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup low-fat milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk. Add wet mixture to dry, and mix well.
Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container.  I also froze these and they were fine.
The Taste Test
Good to the last crumb...

I must hide this post from my husband as he will be expecting me to start baking for the dog, as well! I don't even bake for him!!! Great post and thank you for sharing it on the Boardwalk Bragfest!
